Monet192 Brings Together Past and Present
Entitled “Cuffing Season”, the sixth full-length album from Warner Germany-signed rapper/singer Monet192 is an intriguing affair, based on an unusual concept. Having meticulously documented the emotional and social ups and downs of a young man in his early twenties, that is: himself, across five albums, he now takes stock by updating the sound of seven tracks from his past and bringing them together with five from the present to form a comprehensive report from the emotional frontline of modern life.
Born and raised in St. Gallen, a lively music town in the East of Switzerland, Monet192 – aka Karim Russo – owns both a Swiss and an Italian passport but also has family roots in Macedonia and Tunesia. Releasing his first singles via the internet as a 19-year-old, he swiftly amassed impressive click figures, leading to the release of a mini-album, “192”, in 2018. After early success in Switzerland, he achieved his proper breakthrough in the rest of the GAS countries in 2021 with his third album, “Four Seasons”.
