Seulfa wants to be able to fly
Three years on from his first EP and a handful of singles, Zurich-based singer-songwriter Seulfa releases another EP. Entitled “Warum können Vögel fliegen, aber ich nicht?” it is available now from Sony Music Switzerland. Containing no fewer than seven songs, it could very nearly pass as a debut album.
Still only 21 years old, Seulfa has cited the Swiss singer-songwriter Faber as an early guiding light. Rooted in German indie, Seulfa’s Brazilian family background is allowed to shimmer through occasionally; brass and double bass add another unusual touch. Moving away from the focus on matters of the heart on his previous songs, here he deals with the inner conflicts he has been wrestling with in the process of growing from a carefree teenager into a young man with responsibilities, hopes and doubts.
