Serafyn at long last release their debut album

Almost two years have elapsed since Serafyn’s surprise top 30 success in Switzerland with their first EP, “Quantum Leap”. Now, at last, comes the follow-up. After two very more-ish appetisers in the shape of the singles “Good Thing” and “Morning Tea”, 10 February sees the release of their debut album proper, “Foam” through Radicalis/Believe/Soulfood.

When the three women from Basel started off as buskers in their hometown, their line-up was, to say the least, unusual. Apart from singer and guitarist Anna Erhard, it also contained two cellists, Anja Waldkircher and Alexandra Werner, both of whom were also singers. Since then, Serafyn have acquired a double bass player, Lucas Loew, and a drummer, J. J. Loew. Having shared stages with the likes of FINK, Intergalactic Lovers and Local Natives, and appeared at festivals all over Europe, the group’s unmistakeable blend of voices has become even tighter. Blessed with song-writing skills to match their superior vocal abilities, theirs is an album full to the brim with songs that are elegant, memorable and strong in their emotional impact, all at the same time.
