Brighton, here we come! The Great Escape Festival – 18 – 20 May 2017

Every year is special at the Great Escape Festival, probably the most important get-together for the independent music scene in Europe – but 2017 is especially special for Swiss Music Export. This is because Switzerland is a featured country in this year’s event! It is an opportunity not to be missed by artists and business professionals alike to showcase their skills and to network with colleagues from all across Europe. Needless to say that we are massively busy planning a number of irresistibly entertaining and informative events to take advantage of this privilege.

Needless to say that the traditional Swiss Music Export showcase coupled with a business mixer will once again take place Friday 19 May, at the Komedia Studio – the line-up is not yet confirmed. Other events with Swiss Music Export involvement will soon be announced.

The Swiss acts are chosen independently by the festival programmers. The list of those confirmed already shows off the wide variety of music made in Switzerland to great effect. The artists range from Zeal & Ardor’s dark gospel to Sophie Hunger’s sophisticated piano songs, from Me + Marie’s blues rock to Hypercult’s transpop prekraut postdisco, from Baba Shrimps’ airy indie pop to Odd Beholder’s atmospheric trip hop, and from Buvette’s breezy synth songs to One Sentence. Supervisor’s great, near-hallucinogenic post-psychedelic rock. More to be announced shortly!

Make no mistake, this is a unique opportunity to showcase the great depth of talent in Switzerland and to create new connections between artists, promoters, record labels, journalists and other representatives of music business!
