The blues, Los Gatillos’ way

Los Gatillos are Pierre Omer (Pierre Omer’s Swing Revue, Dead Brothers, etc.), Monney B (Hell’s Kitchen) and Fred Raspail set out to record a good, old-fashioned 7inch vinyl single. They ended up with enough songs to fill an album. They celebrate the release of their eponymous debut album on 7 September via German label Gutfeeling/Bonfeeling Records five days later with a special show at the Polka Bar in Munich.

Fred Raspail is a French chansonnier and guitarist with a large repertory of beautiful melodies and sad thoughts; multi-instrumentalist Omer is a much-loved purveyor of dark swing and – with the Dead Brothers – drinking songs for the dead; Monney B., meanwhile, was once a member of Hell’s Kitchen which says it all, really. Together they mine a particularly dark and yet, paradoxically, uplifting groove somewhere between skiffle, blues and gipsy swing. Oh, and Los Gatillos means “the triggermen” in Spanish.
