AMOA With a Promise to Be Kind

Entitled “I’ll Be Kind”, the second album from the Basel-based singer and songwriter AMOA is out now via Radicalis.
The name, AMOA, sounds no less mysterious today than it did four years ago when her debut album was released. Nor has the singer – name on passport: Andrea Thoma – revealed much more about her life and background since then. Truly, this is an artist who believes in letting her songs speak for herself. Describing her style as “pop/darkwave/electronic”, the seven tracks that make up “I’ll Be Kind” drift, hover and float across the subtle rhythm patterns constructed by her collaborators, the producer Roland Vollenweider, Jonathan Nagel on “machines” and Simon Boss on guitar. Calling her creation an “electro dream world”, AMOA uses the elegantly understated and varied moods of her pieces to explore the various complexities arising from the interaction between “I” and “You”.
