It Is Written by Di-Meh

Entitled “Mektoub”, rapper Di-Meh’s new album was released on 14 May 2021, thus completing a full decade of publishing a new project once a year, always on or around 10 May. Mektoub is an Arabic word meaning “it is written”, roughly in the sense of “Inshallah”.

Di-Meh grew up both in Morocco and Switzerland, at an early age joining the Genevan rap-collective 13 Sarkastick. Also collaborating with the Parisian rapper Népal and another collective, 75ème Session, his reputation rapidly spread across France. Two highly praised albums for the Genevan indie label Colors followed (“Focus Vol 1” (2017) and Focus “Vol 2” (2019). Today, Di-Meh is represented by the Parisian management company Grand Musique Management. “Mektoub” is distributed via Irascible.
