Melodiesinfonie and Fiasco

“Forever Faking Memories” is the debut album from the newly forged Zurich-based duo of songwriter/vocalist Fiona Fiasco and multi-instrumentalist/producer Melodiesinfonie. It was released by Radicalis on 26 February 2021.

“Originally releasing music and performing as Fiona Cavegn”, explains the singer’s homepage, “she lately changed her name to Fiona Fiasco, feeling that it fits her personality better.” Melodiesinfonie, meanwhile, is, according to his Facebook info, “spreading love and positivism with his warm, soulful-dreamy melodies. These are accompanied by drum samples that make your head wobble as if you were watching one of those nodding cats in the windows of grubby Thai takeaways.” No, they don’t take themselves too seriously, do Ms Fiasco and Mr. Melodiesinfonie. However, their music is serious fun, bright and bouncy laptop beats combined with urbane and witty lyrics. The perfect accompaniment to a bottle of bubbly and a pizza Hawaii, in other words.
