Yes I’m Very Tired Now Celebrates 100 Years

“100 Years” is the title of a new album from the artist strangely known as Yes I’m Very Tired Now, aka YIMVTN. It was released on 28 August and is widely available online. “Doesn’t everyone want to reach their 100th birthday?” asks the artist by way of an explanation for the album title.
Yes I’m Very Tired Now is the brainchild of Marc Frischknecht from St. Gallen in the East of Switzerland. He writes and sings translucently brooding synth pop songs not a million miles away from early Depeche Mode or Bronski Beat. Their autumnal mood hangs in the air long after the songs have fluttered away. A moody version of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” offers another pointer towards YIMVTN’s sources of inspiration. The track was recorded for the soundtrack of a German cinema film, “War Photographer”.
