Noah Ferrari Catches The „Discovirus“

Out now is “Discovirus”, the new album from Zurich-based producer and singer/songwriter Noah Ferrari.

Although Noah is still only in his early twenties, it’s his fourth album already. Raised in a musical household – his father is a professional musician – he began to explore his own talents when, aged twelve, he discovered Jimi Hendrix via youtube. Taking guitar and vocal lessons in his teens, his tastes have veered more and more towards R&B in recent years. Naming Amy Winehouse (“a certain elegance”) and Frank Ocean (“he has found a sound of his own – something which I aspire to myself”) as the two artists who have influenced him most, he serves up his own songs embedded in a super-smooth Ableton Live production. “Discovirus”, alas, is a misleading title. Just two of the seven tracks – “Strobe Lights” and “Newfound Clarity” – bear a passing resemblance to disco as we know it. Mostly, Noah’s style is located somewhere between seventies soft rock and laid-back seventies soul – perfect for balmy summer evenings by the swimming pool!
