One Sentence. Supervisor Staying „Temporär“
“Hypnotic” is a thoroughly overused word in the context of psychedelically tinged rock music. In the case of One Sentence. Supervisor, however, it is truly, gloriously apt. Their new album, “Temporär Musik 20 – 29”, is out now via Irascible Records. Their fourth, another set of tightly meshed, ever-shifting melodic strands, it is a classic example of what can happen when a band achieves a perfect understanding of the dynamics of repetition, melodic hooks and vocal melodies. Formed and directed by the multi-instrumentalist and singer, Donat Kaufmann, the band have recently expanded their rhythm section to include extra drums and a dulcimer. In fact, they describe “Temporär Musik 20 – 29” as an autobiographical documentation of the changes (personnel and otherwise) they have undergone in the past three years. “Temporary” has rarely sounded more stable.
