Brand New Ruins
29 May 2020 saw the release of “Creature”, the third album from Zurich-based guitar band The Ruins on Ambulance Recordings.
The fierce name is somewhat misleading. The Ruins are neither an ear-splittingly loud heavy metal combo nor an avant-garde outfit intent on deconstructing music as we know it. Formed in 2007 as an acoustic folk trio, the Ruins they have since then become a quintet whilst mutating into a sharp and powerful guitar band with their own brand of catchy and raspy-voiced indie rock inspired by the likes of Libertines, Arctic Monkeys and the Coral.
