Sophie Hunger: new album «1983»!
Since her début album Monday’s Ghost Sophie Hunger has gone from height to height, picking up accolades from fans, critics and fellow performers (such as Jamie Cullum, Camille, Madeleine Peyroux and Stephan Eicher) alike. Now, with supporting sound engineer Stephane Briat (of Air and Phoenix fame), Sophie herself has produced the new CD, and it sounds like a turning point. “Recording this album made me feel liberated for the first time,” she reports. Featuring drum computers, electronic effects and sounds, the multilingual album is a departure from her acoustic singer-songwriter universe while still being all about solid songs.
