Mama Rosin play France and UK
Since 2008 and Tu As Perdu Ton Chemin, their début CD, Bernese Zydeco crossover trio Mama Rosin have released Black Robert, an acoustic mix of Afro/Caribbean roots, country blues, gospel and swamp pop, and Brûle Lentement, as well as performing in the UK. fRoots magazine puts it like this: “Quite how three guys from Bern in Switzerland – not internationally noted for its proliferation of bayous, alligator clocks and gumbo restaurants – became one of the wildest, most post-authentic Cajun/Zydeco bands on the planet is not yet clear.” See below for upcoming tour dates on either side of the Channel.

Open Broadcast at CTM
This year’s 11th annual CTM – Festival for Adventurous Music and Related Visual Arts, at Berlin’s Club Transmediale, takes as its motto “OVERLAP – Sound & Other Media” to address the current situation of independent music, experimental audiovisual cultures, art and media, and to make some informed guesses about their future on a music scene distinguished by the erosion of disciplinary boundaries. As part of his daily programme on 2 February, Thomas Gilgen, co-initiator of the “Open Broadcast”, will explore the notion of user-generated radio and participate in a panel discussion entitled "Change of Use – The Evolution of Online Music Services”. On 5 and 6 February the radio will also present dedicated "Creative Independents Network Market".
