The talented young Swiss artist will play a concert at this year’s MIDEM when music professionals from around the world get together for four days of business and networking in Cannes, France.
Sophie Hunger has not been idle since presenting her highly acclaimed debut Monday’s Ghost (Nr 1 Swiss charts) in 2008: her next album will be released in March of 2010. Sophie has developed at lighting speed, enjoying the overwhelming response to her 2009 European tour and inspiring praise from colleagues like Jamie Cullum, Camille, Madeleine Peyroux and Stephan Eicher.
MIDEM (Marché international de l’édition musicale), the world’s largest music trade fair, has been held annually on the French Riviera since 1966, offering the music industry a platform to publicize new products, artists and strategies, to attend lectures, seminars and discussion groups, and, of course, to hear artists perform. Each year’s edition has a particular angle: in 2010 the focus is on “From Content to Context: Monetising the New Music Experience”.
