Swiss line up and details for Eurosonic 2007
SME, in collaboration with Open air St.Gallen, Gurten Festival, Paléo Festival, Couleur 3 and DRS 3 are very proud to present:
The Delilahs, Lunik, William White and Navel who will play at the Eurosonic Festival 2007 (Groningen – Netherlands).
The main aim of this collaboration is to promote Swiss bands at this very key European event which discovers, every year, the best new talent in Europe.
This joint force between national radio and the main Swiss festivals will benefit the artists through the opportunity to promote and network with key music industry representatives alongside the increase in credibility.

William White

His music is a blend of the Caribbean rhythms with pop, rock, funk … And all that jazz … But all packed into a very natural, very human-feel recording, creating a uniquely intimate and emotional style with real roots message.
His first album UNDONE was released independently in Switzerland in 14th February 2005 and William also signed a record deal with Chet Records in Germany where the album was released on the 22nd of August 2005.
All tracks on the album are written, performed and produced by William himself. Even before completion though, initial reactions to his songs are massive, with a demo version of The Rock, for example, earning him a finalist place in the internationally acclaimed John Lennon Song-writing Contest (USA) in early 2004. “Peace “(2nd single) is finalist at the “USA Song of the year/VH1 contest” May 2004.
In October William White and The Emergency were the supporting act for Moneybrother throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland (6th-21st of October).Their own UNDONE Tour through Germany took place from the 28th November till 4th December 2005 covering most main cities!
Autumn 2006 saw another successful Club tour, 12 gigs William White and The Emergency through most of Switzerland. Some highlights of the autumn were William White’s solo appearances as supporting act for Xavier Rudd in Zurich and for Ben Harper in Geneva and Basel.
The next album is expected to be released in April 2007 as well as a DVD of the Undone Tour of 2006.

An all-girl trio from Zug, Switzerland they have, at time of writing, played fourteen shows. These include supports to The Stereophonics (their fourth gig), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Sons And Daughters. These 14 shows are vitally important because, more than any one other thing, The Delilahs are a loud, honed, tough and beautiful live rock ‘n’ roll band, from perfect pop Heaven. The band follow on from their success in the UK at the Great Escape Festival and the M4Music conference in Zurich. Their recent single This is it showcases their vintage garage rock sound and has been hugely successful in promoting Swiss music abroad.

In Switzerland Lunik belong to the top league since their second album “Ahead”. With the single “Little Bit” and the corresponding video clip, Lunik are optimally promoting their new album “Preparing To Leave”, which was released this autumn in Germany and Austria.
The new album “Preparing To Leave” was recorded in a lonesome castle near the town Toulouse in the south of France, which was channelled into a recording studio in just three days. “This time we wanted to do everything on our own and to work undisturbed. For that purpose, the surrounding of the castle and the special mood were very inspiring”, says Jaël, the graceful singer with the supernatural voice.
“Little Bit” is the name of the first single. It’s a rock-pop song in best Lunik-tradition and a dignified appetizer for “Preparing To Leave”. The corresponding video was made in Berlin by the German director Christoph Mangler. No doubt, Lunik are ready to climb the next rung of the pop-career ladder.
