Noorderslag/EuroSonic festival and seminar 2006
During EuroSonic (12 and 13 January) around 135 European bands will play on 20 stages. On Noorderslag Festival (14 January) over 45 bands and acts will play the eight stages of De Oosterpoort. And during the whole three days of the Noorderslag Weekend, the Noorderslag Seminar will host a large delegation of the European music industry. Eurosonic’s special focus is on German bands this year.

On Thursday and Friday night, the entire city centre of Groningen is breathing pop music. With over 140 acts in 25 venues, EuroSonic presents a broad variety of the best new Dutch and European talent. With a number of big European booking agents, the 41 ETEP-festivals, the EBU, Yourope, IMMF en Network Europe supporting the programme, EuroSonic is the most extensive and progressive showcase festival in Europe. Apart from a presentation to the European music industry, it is an excellent opportunity for Dutch music fans to discover new talent.
Noorderslag Festival
Noorderslag Festival has been the main gauge of the state of affairs in Dutch pop music for 20 years now. On Saturday 14 January, De Oosterpoort turns into a pop temple with over 40 of the best Dutch acts performing on eight different stages. The very best in every genre, from hiphop and urban to intimate pop music, avant garde, dance, alternative and everything in between. A sellout show for many years, Noorderslag also features the presentation of De Popprijs, Hollands most prestigious music award.
Seminar
With 1800 professionals and over 35 panels and meetings, Noorderslag Seminar is the best gauge of the state of affairs in the Dutch and international music industry. A meeting point for music industry professionals, venues, bookers, media, music publishers and other related sectors, Noorderslag Seminar gives its participants a full update of the latest developments in the field of market developments, rules and regulations, communication and new music.
