Hvck Fynn dare you to take your eyes off them
Whilst pausing all live activities for a year in order to develop new ideas, Lucerne’s Hvck Fynn wish to remind fans of elegantly melodic pop songs of their continued existence. They are doing so with a new EP, “Don’t Take Your Eyes off Me”, served up by Royal Tea Music.
In their previous ten-year incarnation as Huck Finn, the band were a popular festival attraction, releasing two enthusiastically received albums as well as countless singles and EPs. Essentially a duo consisting of singer/songwriter Pidi Steger and guitarist Martin Fischer, the latter’s wish to spend time with his young family rather than the chaotic commune that is a touring band brought about his exit. Back with a slightly revamped name – Hvck Fynn – and a new partner – Michel Gsell aka Guy Vincent, a singer, multi-instrumentalist and arranger – Steger was soon back in joyous action. The quality of the songs on the new 4-track EP bodes very well indeed for a Hvck Fynn with re-charged live-batteries.
