Ele A Getting Pixellated
At last, here it is, the debut album from Lugano’s rap shooting star, Ele A! “Pixel” is available now from EMI/Universal Music Italy. Like the fabulous and reputation-forging mini-album “Acqua” from 2024, the recording was overseen mostly by the producer, Disse, who has helped shape Ele’s style for several years. The album contains twelve tracks featuring guests including NeS, Colapesce, Gaia, Gué, Promessa and Sayf.
In sharp contrast to her meteoric rise, Ele A’s rapping style is relaxed, measured and melodic. Her mix of 90s hip hop, boom bap, Detroit electro sounds and UK drum’n’bass leaves plenty of space for the beautiful flow of her thoughts which take in subjects as diverse as mental health and psychoanalysis.
