Palinstar Travelling to Backtrain Places

Released via Mouthwatering/Fuga, “Backtrain Places” is the debut solo album from singer and multi-instrumentalist Palinstar. Whilst the name might be unfamiliar, the face certainly isn’t. Apart from being the drummer in One Sentence.Supervisor as well as playing the bass in Kush K and Boytoy, she also plays with her friends from Jacksonville, Florida – Kairos Creature Club.

With an address book like that, it comes as little surprise that “Backtrain Places” boasts an impressive roster of guests, including producer Mario Hänni, harpist Linda Vogel, singer Rea Dubach and drummer Mirko Schwab (both Omni Selassi), Alexander Kranabetter (keyboards, Voodoo Jürgens) and Madeline McCormack (bass, keyboards; Snail Mail, Faye Webster etc.). Musically, Palinstar serves up a creamy and dreamy brand of Feist- and War Against Drugs-flavoured guitar songs that becomes more and more moreish with every turn of the record player.
