Nomuel Celebrating „Home“
Out now via Sony Music, “Home” is the second EP from Basel-based quintet Nomuel. Clearly a boy band in the classic sense of a bunch of teenage friends falling into a band together, the youthful ensemble seems to have access to an inexhaustible reservoir of super-catchy pop tunes, some of which they sing in French, some in English, some in German – and sometimes all three in the same song. “Home” is Nomuel’s celebration of friendship in general, and theirs in particular. “We are our home”, they say, meaning: “home is where the band is”. With the guitars mostly acoustic, the drums relaxed and the occasional electronic orchestration a loudish hum rather than a symphonic explosion, the focus of “Home” is very much on the joyously laid-back interplay of the five (six, if we count guest-vocalist Milxn) voices and their languages.
