Rabin Rocks the Blues

Guitarist Félix Rabin’s debut mini album “Pogboy”, released on 25 September, is distributed everywhere via Phonag Records.

Born in Britany but living in Neuchâtel, Félix Rabin was raised on his parent’s record collection, classic rock, in other words, from Jimi Hendrix to Pink Floyd. Aged fifteen, pretty much at the same time as the family moved to Switzerland, he discovered his passion for the guitar. His development was swift, and soon he joined in all kinds of live sessions at the Montreux Jazz Festival where Quincy Jones was so impressed by his performance that he invited him for a lengthy chat backstage. An opening spot at a gig in London’s legendary 100 Club “changed everything” for Félix, leading to an ever increasing number of gigs and tours in the UK, culminating in winning the “Introducing” award for best new act at the Giants of Rock festival in Minehead, UK. “Félix Rabin…totally blew us away with technical skills and stage presence” wrote the reviewer of MMH Rock Radio.

“Pogboy” was recorded in Los Angeles with Ross Hogarth whose previous credits include Van Halen, REM and Ziggy Marley. The title derives from the nickname Hogarth gave Rabin. “He had a guitar pedal I ended up constantly using”, he recalls. “It was called Pog, and so I became Pogboy.”
