Dark Light from Bleu Roi
“Dark/Light” is the simple and yet deeply enigmatic title of the new album from Bleu Roi, released on 25 October 2019 via the artist-run PlusPlus Records. The quartet from Basel formed around the Jans sisters, Jennifer and Imogen, likes it mysterious and misty. They describe their sound on Facebook as “music for the lost and the found”. Citing the likes of Bon Iver and Daughter as inspirations, they combine slow-motion synth pop with organic guitar, drums and, of course, Jennifer’s haunting vocals to suitably spooky effects.
“Dark/Light” was recorded and produced by György Barocsai and Bleu Roi at Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg, Sweden.
