Rorcal Celebrating the Silence of Very Loud Noise
15 September 2023 saw the release on Hummus Records of the sixth album from much-travelled extreme metallists Rorcal. Entitled «Silence», it is quite possibly the loudest and most intense record ever to grace a record deck. Encyclopaedia Metallum describes their style as “Sludge/Doom Metal/Post-Hardcore” and the themes of their lyrics as “the apocalypse (early); tragedy, horror stories (later)”.
According to an older press release from the quintet from Geneva, their common goal is “reaching the deepest depths of darkness, searching a way to express the unnameable”. Or, in the words of their latest missive: “«Silence», a new album on which the five musicians prove their constant dedication to the dark arts”.
