Ten years already – and yet, it does not seem so long ago since that very first edition of the Festival in a handful of venues with a handful of bands and a small crowd of curious international observers. To the lucky (relatively) few who were present it was immediately obvious that this was a Festival with a great future. Passionate organisers, great venues, a fine city with first-rate travel connections – the circumstances seemed ideal to create one of the most entertaining as well as important platforms for innovative music makers and their helpers. Starting off as a music festival pure and simple, the event was extended in 2009 to include a wide-ranging program of business networking events and panel discussions. 30’000 guests – music fans as well as business professionals – will descend on Hamburg’s St. Pauli district for this year’s edition. They will be enjoying more than 600 different events in around seventy venues. Truly, the Reeperbahn Festival has arrived as one of the most important music business get-togethers in the world.

Swiss Music Export has been an admirer and supporter of the Reeperbahn Festival from the beginning. Naturally, we wouldn’t want to be missing the anniversary celebrations for anything. Once again, therefore, in partnership with RFV Basel, Fondation Suisa and the Swiss Embassy in Berlin, we will be serving up a Swiss Business Mixer complete with the finest raclette, superbly drinkable white wine and – last but not least – showcase performances from three very special Swiss acts. Additionally, there will be the Swiss Contact Lounge for serious networking purposes. Both events will be taking place this year in a bigger, better and more atmospheric venue – the splendid Sommersalon at Klubhaus St. Pauli.

Live acts:

Faber
Sophie Hunger is a fan, and it’s easy to hear why. Faber is a young singer/songwriter from Zurich with a subtle guitar technique and a fine way with words. He’s young, but his voice has clearly lived many previous lives.

James Gruntz
The velvety-voiced singer/songwriter from Basel will be introducing the calm and catchy songs of his fourth album “Belvedere” (release date Germany/Austria: 02 Oct 2015, via Rough Trade). Earlier in the year, James picked up two Swiss Music Awards in the categories „Best Breaking Act“ and „Artist Award“.

Puts Marie
A five-piece from Biel, Puts Marie write classy and dynamic rock songs with a hint of hip-hop and a strong dose of „chanson„. And with their rubber-limbed frontman they put on a greatly entertaining live show.
