Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp on UK/Ireland tour

Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp’s third album, “Rotorotor”, was unquestionably one of the most exciting and original albums made in Switzerland last year.

This is what the highly respected UK monthly magazine fRoots (“The Essential Folk, Roots & World Music Guide”) had to say about it: “We are in the land of the desirably unclassifiable. Art rock meets the globe, maybe…Recommended by a friend, I wandered down to see them play on a cramped stage in the bowels of a converted barge and, as they say, they blew me away. It turned out they were here in Bristol to record this album with PJ Harvey’s sidekick John Parish as producer. I wasn’t that keen on what he did with Rokia Traoré’s most recent album but in this case he’s absolutely nailed it…a record every bit as good as the live band.””

A seven-piece band at present, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp are based around singer, violinist and whistler Liz Moscarola and double-bassist Vincent Bertholet. Fresh from their rousing performances at the Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Holland, and in Rotterdam, the Tout Puissants will bring their unique brand of musical mayhem to the UK and Ireland in early February, taking in, amongst other places, Bristol, London, Glasgow and Dublin. A tour of France will follow in April.
