Velvet Two Stripes @ Rencontres Trans Musicales 2013

The St.Gallen-based trio Velvet Two Stripes, signed to the German Snowhite Agency/Records, have been confirmed to play the Trans Musicales festival in Rennes. Passionately dedicated for thirty years to the discovery of innovative new music, the festival is one of the oldest-established in Europe. Artists as diverse as Portishead and Nirvana, the Do and Cabaret Voltaire have appeared here long before their international break-through.
The two sisters Sophie (vox) and Sara Diggelman (guitar) and multi-instrumentalist Franca Mock are firmly rooted in the tradition of White Stripes and the Kills, but they have also added an element of sleazy metal and a hint of Siouxsie Banshee to create their very own blend of rock’n’roll.
