To Athena definitely has not lost her magic!

To Athena is the name of singer/songwriter Tiffany Limacher’s solo project, and her new album, her third, poses the entirely rhetorical question: “Have I Lost My Magic?”. It is available now from Mouthwatering Records. Tiffany celebrates the release with well over thirty concerts in Switzerland, Germany and Austria over the coming months.

Born into a family of violin makers in Lucerne, Tiffany “To” Athena Limacher grew up with classical music, 1980s synth pop, Freddy Mercury and – one suspects – Kate Bush. All these influences come together in a gloriously idiosyncratic mixture of strings of all kinds (yes, harp, too!), Beatles-y melodies (“Weird Kid”), woodwind, piano-led ballads and laid-back central European circus exuberance.

The album title refers to the central theme of this song-cycle: how to retain a sense of childlike wonder in a world shaped by tension, greed and anonymity. Singing with superb melodic ease in English as well Swiss German, the album was recorded with producer and multi-instrumentalist Linus Gmünder (ex-Soybomb) who is also a member of the To Athena touring band.
