Elio Ricca Go Emotionally Hardcore

Following on from a long list of singles, synth-duo Elio Ricca are finally releasing an album. “Emotional Hardcore” is out now via Mouthwatering Records. It fulfills every expectation the title might raise!

Take the title track: massively rocking drums, mantra-like vocals, operatic background sirens (in the Greek mythology sense), cavernous synth bass, plus an eerily plonking piano outro… And the rest of the album is just as wildly eclectic. Elio Ricca truly accept no limits. Post-punk energy, the dirtiest bass this side of Killing Joke, disco, synthwave, Prince-ly vocals, Nine Inch Nails, and a hint of Italian Canzone (yes, they sometimes sing in Italian!) – it all finds its way into their alluringly dirty melange of wit and groove.
