Atkims Cave Celebrate „Limits?“
“Limits?” – don’t ignore the question mark! – is the somewhat mysterious title of the debut album from vocal trio Atkims Cave which is out now on Irascible Records.
It has to be said that the group don’t give away much about themselves. We do know they’re called Sacha, Alexandra and Natkim, and, depending on the source, they might hail from Lausanne, Geneva and/or Val d’Isère. Beyond that, we have to rely on the music to form our picture. And the music is actually rather special! Perhaps best described as chamber pop, it oozes a near-mediational sort of calmness. The three gauze-like voices elegantly drift in and out of each other as well as the artfully understated, mostly acoustic instrumental arrangements. A sophisticated gem.
