Here Comes MaMA Music & Convention!
Paris in all its autumnal splendour – who wouldn’t want to be there! It truly is a stroke of genius to choose this time of the year for a get-together that turns one of the most picturesque parts of Paris into a carnival of music. For three days, the area around Place Pigalle will be buzzing with seven different venues hosting 80 concerts and around 150 convention events.

Swiss Music Export – needless to say! – will be there, too. Once again, we will be co-hosting our popular Swiss Business Mixer complete with a showcase performance from Delia Meshlir as well as plenty of Swiss wine kindly provided by the Swiss Embassy in France.

Delia Meshlir is a singer/songwriter/pianist from Lausanne blessed with a voice vaguely reminiscent of Florence Welsh (+ the Machine) in timbre and range. Her approach to constructing a song, however, is considerably more restrained and dreamy. Delia will be showcasing songs from her new album, her second, which will be released in November and features two Wurlitzers, one cello, and contributions from Ronin’s Sha on bass clarinet and alto sax.

Neuchatel-based producers and remixers Ivo Roxo and Léo Besso have long enjoyed a strong reputation as leading lights in the French Swiss electronic scene. They like to garnish their complex, drum’n’bass-inspired breakbeats with tinges of pop, Italo-disco and new wave. They recently collaborated with French vocal duo Bolides. Might they turn up as special guests?

Released last February, Lausanne-based singer/rapper Silance’s debut album “Nouveau Genre” served up a gripping melange of electronic beats, melodic rap and a feel for warm, chansonesque vocal melodies. It also sent out a strikingly intense message of solidarity from an androgynous lesbian to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community feeling isolated or prosecuted in their environment.
