Kadebostany Planning for Their Funerals

“Play This at My Funerals” – an intriguing request, we’re sure you’ll agree. It is also the title of streaming billionaire Guillaume de Kadebostany’s fourth album, released on 2 June 2023 by Ambulance Recordings.

Starting off a good dozen years ago with the concept of a mock musical army complete with semi-ironic uniforms and a fusion-sound that drew inspiration from all over the Balkan, Kadebostany have since then evolved into a sophisticated outfit dedicated to exploring the outer reaches of electronic dance music. Along the way, and in the course of 700+ live shows, they have generated some staggering YouTube and Spotify statistics.

According to Guillaume, “Play This at My Funerals” contains a selection of deeply personal songs which he would like to hear from the coffin whilst he is being lowered into the ground. Considerably more diverse in style and more subtle in execution than previous offerings, the album was recorded in Lausanne, Istanbul, Kiev Athens, and Paris. Similarly long and diverse is the list of singers adding their own personalities to the proceedings. These include Greek singer Vassilina, Angie Robba from France, Turkish singer/trumpeter Baris Demirel, Italian newcomer Serepocaiontas, and Romanian vocalist Valeria Stoica.
