Mega Goes Into Overdrive

Riding in on a wave of inspiration and recognition for his talents, Vevey-based rapper Mega has launched himself into the new year with a triple-bang. Starting off with the single “Berger” featuring French rapper So La Lune in January, he followed this up with an EP, “MH:H” in mid-February, and a collaboration with eyewear designer Nirvan Javan and the Zurich-based artist/designer Tymen Goetsch for the truly spectacular (sorry, couldn’t resist) video to go with “Berger”.

Raised in Vevey, a town near Montreux at the Eastern end of Lake Geneva, Mega was introduced to the joys of music at an early age by his parents who are both passionate jazz fans. With Vevey becoming a hotbed of musical innovation of late, Mega quickly established himself as a special talent, joining the Lausanne-based hip-hop collective TVDZ (Tout Vient du Zoo). Hitting the ground running with his first solo album, Mega Mode+” in 2021, Mega quickly developed a style that is very much his own. A year later he began to enjoy considerable exposure in France with his follow-up album, “Zima”. Flowing slowly like molasses, the mood of words, music and vocal delivery is often spooky and spacious, though never in a threatening way. “MH:H” was produced in Lausanne by Au6i.
