Pablo Nouvelle Celebrates “Vulnerability”

Ten years after his debut, beats architect Pablo Nouvelle has arrived at his eighth album. Entitled “Vulnerability”, it was released by the Amsterdam-based Armada Electronic Elements label on 21 October 2022. With a title track built around a snippet from a conversation between the singer Anaiis and the actress Deborah  Lukumuena (“You can’t be strong if you can’t recognise that sometimes you need to be weak”), “Vulnerability” is a very diverse album that neither shies away from difficult themes nor from dancehall euphoria. With “Goodbye” – the album’s opener, naturally – Nouvelle even serves up a track that somehow manages to combine a chamber music vibe with a pulsating clubbing groove – ending with two lone piano notes that hang in the air like a question mark.

Says the artist: “Vulnerability is a dance music album which, by my standards, is hard-hitting, but without losing the sensual and emotional side. No matter how upbeat and danceable the beats are, I want to touch peoples’ hearts with my music and remain true to the Cry on the Dancefloor genre.”
