Moonpools Serenading “Damaged Goods”

Newly released via Young & Aspiring comes “Damaged Goods”, the new EP from nautically named dreampop quintet Moonpools. It comes a very long three years after their much-admired debut EP “Turbulent Times”. Formed around the silkily voiced Marcie Nyffeler, Moonpools consists of her drummer brother Jasper, Francesco Vona (synths), Matthias Gusset (guitar) and David Blum (bass) – all involved in a number of other projects in Basel’s lively music community.

Listing the likes of Hatchie, Snail Mail, Ride and Soccer Mummy as influences, Moonpools’ songs are, indeed, dreamy – albeit with a driving undercurrent of muscular rhythms. The title track of the EP, previously released as a single, has already enjoyed plenty of airplay from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, SRF3 and SRF Virus.
