SoundTrack_Zurich – 28 Sept – 1 Oct 2021
Film soundtracks and all the other types of sound designed to interact with moving images have become an ever more important playground for artistic expression, and, of course, source of income, over the past two decades.
SoundTrack_Zurich – the Swiss conference of film and media music – offers a comprehensive insight into the workings of this burgeoning industry. With the declared aim of presenting “the work of Swiss and European film composers at eye level with their international colleagues”, the conference offers a rich selection of workshops, case studies, keynote speeches, and panel discussions attended by some of the leading figures in the field. After the successful kick-off in 2020, the second edition of SoundTrack_Zurich at ZFF will again host big names from film and series music. Guest of honor is Mychael Danna (Academy Award for ‘Life of Pi’), who will receive the Career Achievement Award at the 17th Zurich Film Festival. Other renowned composers at SoundTrack_Zurich include Volker Bertelmann aka Hauschka (‘Monte Veritá’), Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen (‘OSS 117: Alerte rouge en Afrique Noire’), Lele Marchitelli (‘The Young Pope’/’The New Pope’), Dominik Scherrer (‘The Serpent’) and Diego Baldenweg with Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg, as well as a host of producers, directors, and music supervisors from Spain, Germany, France, UK, and other countries.
Swiss Music Export is a partner of SoundTrack_Zurich. We urge anyone even vaguely interested in the combination of sound an image to register for this conference.
