Dino Brandão Finds New Bounce

Last seen in the company of Sophie Hunger, Faber and their chart-storming trio album “Ich liebe Dich”, multi-instrumentalist Dino Brandão returns with “Bouncy Castle”, a first taster from a forthcoming solo album. “Bouncy Castle” is released on 27 April 2021 by Two Gentlemen.

Previously the voice, face and brains of a band called Frank Powers, Dino Brandão has been collecting musical instruments all his life. More importantly, with family roots in both Switzerland and Angola, he has been able to draw on an exceptionally wide palette of influences and inspirations, eventually arriving at a style he calls “Afro Psych”. After three albums with Frank Powers, Brandão joined singer/songwriter Sophie Hunger’s band as a percussionist. “Bouncy Castle” is Dino’s first release under his own name, a reflection of the fact that his newest songs are also his most personal. Being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Brandão’s perspective on life changed dramatically. “To me, Bouncy Castle describes a person with a never-say-die attitude.” he explains, “someone who accepts the changes around him. It is a song of hope about the body and spirit.”
