Another Hot Eurosonic Update

As you might have gathered from previous super-enthusiastic postings from us, Switzerland will serve as the focus country at the next Eurosonic festival in January 2020! Our live music programme is now complete and comprises 22 Swiss acts, reflecting a broad range of styles.

It is no coincidence that quite a few names on our list produce their music electronically. Electronica in all its different guises has long played an important role in Swiss music. Camilla Sparksss, Ikan Hyu, Jessiquoi, Amami and Monumental Men as well as DJ/producers Cella, La Colère and Ramin & Reda all vividly demonstrate the joys of wires, buttons and laptops.

The rest of the programme features Black Sea Dahu, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Emilie Zoé, Marius Bear, L’Eclair, KT GoriquePascal Gamboni, Sirens of Lesbos, The Gardener and the Tree, Veronica Fusaro, Bitter Moon,  Coilguns and Asbest. Highly recommended is also the very special performance from Sophie Hunger with percussionist Julian Sartorius. The duo will present music especially devised for Eurosonic.

Aside these performances, Swiss Music Export is organising a whole raft of other events, including receptions, speed meetings, conferences and soundwalks, plus an electro night and – wait for it! – a cheese competition! More details to follow in our December newsletter.

The Swiss delegation, in support of Music Declares Emergency, will travel to Groningen by train. We feel this is a small but important contribution to the present debate about climate change.
