Swiss Music Export at MaMA Paris – 17 – 19 October 2018

Paris in the autumn is pretty nice by itself. Add MaMA Festival & Convention to the mix, and the lure becomes irresistible. Staged in various locations around Montmartre and Pigalle, two of the most colourful areas of Paris, the MaMA is easily the most glamorous event in the yearly cycle of music business get-togethers. Attracting more than 4000 business professionals from 60-odd countries, MaMA Paris offers a massive platform for major record labels, indies, concert venues, festivals, promoters, managers, publishers, broadcasters and, of course, the media, to get to know each other, strike up new friendships and develop plans.

It goes without saying that Swiss Music Export, together with the Embassy of Switzerland in France, Fondation CMA and Fondation SUISA, is once again organising a Swiss Business MixerA perfect mix of fine networking, fine food and wine, and excellent live music, it is – even if we say so ourselves – a rather unmissable opportunity to find out more about the richly varied music produced in Switzerland at present.

Swiss Business Mixer
Thursday, 18 October / 16:30 / Bar à Bulles

Anyone attending the conference/festival is most welcome to attend the Swiss Business Mixer – however, due to the limited space you will have to sign up no later than 16 October 2018. To do so, please click this link!

This year’s business mixer will feature showcase performances by Comme1flocon and One Sentence. Supervisor feat. Bahur Ghazi.

Comme1flocon
He may only be 21 years old but he is already a veteran of Lausanne’s burgeoning hip-hop scene. Releasing his first mixtape in 2015 as part of the rap trio 3e Mi-Temps, he went solo one year later. He has since developed a highly idiosyncratic style that pays as much attention to arrangements as to words.

One Sentence. Supervisor feat. Bahur Ghazi
Easily the most psychedelically astute band to come out of Switzerland in the last few years, this hypnotic guitar quartet from Baden is going from strength to strength. By adding the Syrian oud-player Bahur Ghazi to their line-up, their sound has acquired an extra layer of depth and mystery.

Both acts performing at the Business Mixer will also be part of the normal MaMA concert programme:

Comme1flocon
Thursday, 18 October / 21:45 – 22:25 / Le Carmen

One Sentence. Supervisor feat. Bahur Ghazi
Friday, 19 October / 20:30 – 21:10 / La Boule Noire
