Waves Vienna, Austria 27 – 29 September 2018

We at Swiss Music Export love the Waves Vienna, and we’re sure that everyone does. It won’t be necessary, therefore, to extol the many virtues of this bijou festival much more, other than to suggest that anyone who misses it will miss a truly lovely event. It offers a fantastic opportunity to meet music professionals especially from Eastern Europe to meet up, discover new music and form new connections with countries that sometimes disappear from the radar of even the most enterprising Western European music professionals.

To make the prospect of a trip to Austria even more mouth-watering, Swiss Music Export is able to offer a special discount price for the Pro Pass. This gives access to all concerts, conference events, workshops, receptions and the delegates tour. Our price? Euro 65 instead of Euro 99! Also available is the Conference Pass which is valid for the conference and the fringe programme and, via us, costs Euro 40 instead of Euro 55. These prices include VAT but not the delivery fee. For more information please contact mixer@swiss-music-export.com.

And there’s more! Swiss Music Export in cooperation with Fondation SUISA and the Swiss Embassy in Vienna is once again presenting a Swiss Business Mixer complete with Wine, finger food and music. It goes without saying that we would very much like to see you there, have a chat with you and introduce you to like-minded music fans and professionals.

Our live act this time around will be the fabulous Blind Butcher.

Entrance is free, of course, but you will have to register by Wednesday 26 September.

Apart from Blind Butcher, two more bands from Switzerland will be appearing live at Waves Vienna.

Schnellertollermeier
Thursday 27 September, 21:30 – 22:15, Ottakringer Stage

Signed to Cuneiform Records, Schnellertollermeier already have a sizeable international following. Founded on a bed of rock, the bass/guitar/drums trio explore the deeper waters of modern composition, minimal music and improv to gripping effect.

Len Sander
Friday 28 September, 18:45 – 19:30, Aula Oben

Formed around singer, songwriter and visual artist Blanka Inauen and producer Al Hug (pronounced Hoo’g), Mouthwatering Records-signed Len Sander play a breezy kind of synth pop with a strong hint of eighties aesthetics.

Blind Butcher
Friday, 28 September 2018, 16:30 – 17:30, WUK Projektraum
Friday 28 September, 20:00 – 20:45, Open Air Stage.

A fearsomely intense guitar/drums/pedals duo, Blind Butcher combine the adrenalin of prime punk with the groove of Krautrock and the surreal wit that is a prerequisite for any Voodoo Rhythm Records-signee.
