Coilguns spring sophomore album

Coilguns are labelling their style “D-Beat/Grind/Black- Metal Tech ’n‘ roll without double foot machine”, they most certainly do know how to make a dark and intense racket.

The band was formed in 2011 in La Chaux-de- Fonds by Louis Jucker (vox, noises, guitar), Jona Nido (guitar) and Luc Hess (drums) with the sole purpose of making “fast and simple” music. Soon, however, Coilguns were much too exciting a prospect to remain a mere side-project. A handful of EPs and a powerful debut-album, Commuters” (2013), spread their reputation. In 2015 alone, the band performed more than 160 shows in Europe and Australia.

Coilguns’ second album, “Millennials”, was recorded in a secluded house in the German countryside in a studio set up by the band from scratch and using only analogue hardware. Eighteen months after completing the album, the band signed a worldwide management deal with All Independent Service Alliance (Myrkur, Wardruna, Enslaved, etc).

“Millennials” is at last released on 16 March on Jona Nido’s own imprint Hummus Records which has recently secured distribution in the USA via Sony/Red, and in the UK/EU through Plastic Head Records. In the GSA countries, the album is distributed by Membran. To support the release, Coilguns will undertake an extensive tour, taking in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, France and the UK.
