Swiss Music Export stops off at The Rencontres Transmusicales de Rennes 6 – 10 December 2017

Ah, Les Transmusicales! If it’s autumn, and it’s music, it’s got to be the richly picturesque and historic city of Rennes in the West of France. Once again, Swiss Music Export in collaboration with Presence Switzerland will endeavour to make a big musical splash at this fabulous multi-venue event, the last and certainly the most beautiful opportunity of the year to discover next year’s break-through artists.

As ever, we will be hosting our very own SME Focus Suisse showcase. This will take on Friday, 8 December 2017, once again at L’Ubu. The Focus Suisse event proper starts at 16:00 and ends at 20:30. There will be live performances by One Sentence. Supervisor, Mister Milano and Pandour –not to be missed, of course!

16:30 One Sentence. Supervisor

This irresistibly hypnotic guitar quartet from Baden are going from strength to strength. After walking off with the IndieSuisse „Album of the Year 2016“ award for „Temporär Musik 1 – 13”, the band has matured into a compelling live act.

17:45 Mister Milano

Ancient analogue synths and a deep love of Italian pop melodiousness make up the core of this alluringly idiosyncratic trio’s muse. Comprising two members of our old favourites, Puts Marie, Mister Milano’s peculiar brand of nostalgia is both sublime and utterly fresh.

19:00 Pandour

Pandour hail from Fribourg, a bi-lingual small town on the border between the French and the German parts of Switzerland. With their unconventional line-up of two electro producers and two guitarists, the band, too, combine different cultures, deep and ambient house grooves and blues, jazz-inflected hip-hop and a hint of Primal Scream psychedelica.
