Swiss Music Export at Waves Vienna 28 – 30 September 2017, Vienna, Austria

All of us at Swiss Music Export love the Waves Festival and Conference! Not only is Vienna a fabulous city with its café culture and elegantly old-fashioned vibe. It also offers a geographically perfect platform for musicians and business professionals alike where East meets West to compare visions and find new friends.

Needless to say, we would like to share our experience with you – the more the merrier. To this end, Swiss Music Export is very happy to be able to offer ProPass tickets at a discount price of € 50 instead of € 100 (including statutory sales tax, outlet fee, plus service & shipping charges). This offer is open to any Swiss delegates booking their ProPass tickets via Swiss Music Export (deadline 26 September).  For more information please contact mixer@swiss-music-export.com.

As in previous years, Swiss Music Export is hosting a Swiss Business Mixer. Anyone with a delegate pass is cordially invited to come along and enjoy a Swiss snack, wash it down with a glass or two of white or red, and enjoy this year’s fabulous live act, Fai Baba. However, anyone wishing to attend needs to register before Tuesday, 26 September, 18:00: https://goo.gl/vtBq8S

SWISS BUSINESS MIXER – Project Room @ WUK
Friday, 29 September 2017, 16:30 – 17:30

LIVE ACT: Fai Baba
Fai Baba is an ace guitarist who combines hefty blues riffs with psychedelic whimsy. He will present material from his new album where – alongside a stunning new band including drumming wizard Domi Chansorn – he explores a recently re-discovered spiritual side of his muse.

The Swiss Business Mixer is presented by Fondation Suisa, the Swiss Embassy in Vienna, and Swiss Music Export .

Fai Baba is also part of the regular Waves Vienna programme:
Friday 29 September 2017, 21:45 – 22:30 @ WUK Beisl

Other Swiss bands scheduled to appear at Waves Vienna

Serafyn
Thursday 28 September 2017, 20:45 – 21:30 @ Isaacs
Two years after their debut EP hit the top 30 in Switzerland, Serafyn last spring released their first album proper. Whilst the line-up is unusual and striking with its two celli, the group’s strength lies in their elegant vocal arrangements and memorable melodies.

Zeal & Ardor
Thursday 28 September 2017, 21:45 – 22:30 @ Ottakringer Stage
Multi-instrumentalist and singer Manuel Gagneux aka Zeal & Ardor, and his band combine the euphoric sound of African-American gospel with the blues of chain-gang songs and a dark wall of death metal guitar to devastating effect.

deepdive music Night
Friday 29 September 2017, 19:00 – 22:45 @ Isaac’s
Once again, the long-established independent agency, management and publishing company deepdive music is presenting its own showcase night. It features the following acts:

Lynn Maring
19:30 – 20:15
Better known as a member of the raucous rock duo, the Chikitas, Lynn Maring solo explores the bluesy side of her furious muse.

Veronica Fusaro
20:45 – 21:30
The promising young singer/songwriter has come along in leaps and bounds over the past year. Expect a cracking debut album soon.

Polar Circles
22:00 – 22:45
Polar Circles are fond of big rock choruses and sumptuous guitar sounds. They have recently recorded their second album with producer Sam Williams (Supergrass, Plan B, Noisettes, etc.)

Additionally, deepdive music will present their own after-show party (there won’t be any live performances):
Friday, 29 September 2017, 22:45 – 02:00 @ Isaac’s
With DJ Ruff @ DJ Ridoo (Label NoHook!)
