Printemps De Bourges and Les Inouïs de Bourges with Sandor 18 – 23 April 2017

First staged in 1977, the Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel festival regularly attracts around 200’000 music fans and 600 business professionals from all over the world to this pretty cathedral city in the French heartland.

Apart from the conventional programme of live music, Printemps De Bourges  also incorporates Les Inouïs de Bourges, a kind of festival-within-a-festival dedicated to newly emerging artists from the francophone world. Here, a selection of just over thirty acts is chosen by a hard-working festival jury from more than 3500 applicants and divided in four categories, pop/rock, electro, chanson and hip-hop.

Swiss Music Export’s association with Printemps De Bourges dates back to 2004. As in the past, SME has once again been asked to help the jury to select one Swiss act to appear at Les Inouis. This year’s choice is Sandor, a female singer/songwriter-cum-band from Lausanne who will be featured in the pop/rock section of the festival.

Citing Niagara, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, Benjamin Biolay and Serge Gainsbourg as influences, Sandor’s music is a subtle blend of French chanson, beautifully autumnal melodies and richly varied synth textures. Apart from Sandor herself (vocals, guitar, synth), the live band comprises Tanja Bochud (backing vocals and synth) and Jérémie Duciel (drums, samples). With perfect timing, the group release their debut EP “Bar de Nuit” on 31 March 2017. Their booking agents are Glad We Met (Switzerland), Bi-Pole (France), Nada Booking (Belgium) and Micol (Italy).
