Verveine releases new EP „Antony“

Introduced as one of fifteen “unmissable acts” at the Transmusicales de Rennes by Les Inrocks, the French newspaper Libération was fulsome in its praise last December of Verveine’s performance at the festival. Devoting a major feature to the 25 year old artist from Vevey, “The Swiss singer fulfilled and even surpassed all the promises made by her self-produced debut album”, began an in-depth feature about the singer whose real name is Joelle Nicolas.

The album mentioned above, “Peaks”, came out towards the end of 2013. Since then, as the feature in Libération testifies, Verveine has built up a strong reputation as a mesmerising performer. Operating in a field somewhere between Techno, Pop and experimental Electronica, she constructs her songs “live” by layering many different tracks and beats over each other and constantly manipulating them.

Recently signed to Creaked Records, 9 March sees the release of a new EP, “Antony”. It contains the tracks “Premier”, “Undergrass”, “Antony’s Affair” and “Veine R No. 1”, plus a remix of “Undergrass” by Alexander Robotnick and two remixes of “Antony’s Affair” by Stas and La Vie C’est Facile.

To support the release, Verveine will be touring throughout March and April. She will be playing a handful of gigs each in France and Switzerland, culminating in a release party at the Social Club in Paris. These will be followed by an appearance at the Plissken Festival in Athens.
