FROM KID’s Caribbean Carnival

From Kid is the nom de plume of singer/songwriters, guitarists and keyboarders Andrin Berchtold and Gian Reto Camenisch. Having embarked on their song writing partnership a year ago, they live and work in an old farm house on the edge of Chur in the mountainous Eastern Swiss canton of Grisons. In August 2013 they released their debut single, “Sun”, a song light and fluffy like a single white cloud on a blue sky. The irresistibly optimistic song swiftly found fans all across the internet. In December 2013, French label On the Fruit Records released a mini compilation album with six remix versions of the song. “Sun” also reached the ear of the DJ and producer crew “Detnator” in Trinidad and Tobago. According to Detnator-founder Baidawi, “Sun” was THE best song of 2013. Now, Baidawi and Crew have recorded their own version complete with steel drums, entitled “Caribbean Sun”. “Caribbean Sun” will be the opening hymne and one of the songs played – loudly and often – during the two-day carnival event “J’Ouvert” started on Monday, 3rd March.
