MyKungFu „Repeat Spacer“

The second solo album of MyKungFu, aka Domi Schreiber, will be released in Germany on 25 October and in France on 15 November. It has been available in Switzerland since April 2012.

40-year old guitarist and singer Domi Schreiber is a veteran of many more or less well-known Swiss bands, including HNO and William White. His speciality are sumptuously arranged pop songs that deal with real emotions and everyday life. His playful and open approach to sound texture is demonstrated by the fact that he can be booked for live concerts with no fewer than seven different combinations of personnel, including accordion, theremin, typewriter, French horn and tres.

Science Fiction Theater “Dolly Shot”

cover dolly shot

The hydra-headed pulp-music collective Science Fiction Theatre’s second album “Dolly Shot” will be released on 6 September by Berlin-based record label Traumton.

Science Fiction Theater – not to be mixed up with American rock band Science Fiction Theatre – is an intriguing collection of musicians from wildly differing backgrounds. Amongst their members is a bass player whose roots are in heavy metal, a saxophonist who is otherwise engaged in some serious jazz expeditions, and an analogue synth purist. Their style is influenced by Spaghetti Western, 1940s big band music, TV thriller theme tunes and all things trashy in general. They call it “Surf – Movie Sounds – Nu Trash – Easy Listening”. Whatever it is, is ludicrously, fiendishly entertaining.
