Swiss Music Export showcase at the Great Escape festival in Brighton – SME wins „Best Export Office“ award

The Swiss Music Export „Business-Mixer“ at the Great Escape showcase festival and music convention turned out to be a success beyond the most optimistic hopes of Jean Zuber, director of SME Zurich. The venue, the Komedia Studio Bar in the heart of Brighton was packed throughout the event on the afternoon of Thursday 16 May. The performers – Evelinn Trouble, Velvet Two Stripes and Peter Kernel – were all enthusiastically received. Velvet Two Stripes were especially pleased to see their picture featured on the contents page of the official Great Escape program magazine!

Towards the end of the festival, the YMCA 2013 awards – Yearly Music Convention Awards – were handed out by the YMCA judging committee in an event where agents, managers, bookers, business owners and export office representatives all gathered to exchange views and, of course, contacts. SME is very pleased to report that the „best Export Office 2013“ went to Swiss Music Export. The other nominees in this category were music:LX – Luxembourg, Bureau Export – France, Adam Mickiewicz Institute – Poland, and MUSEX – Finland.
