m4music 22-24.03.2012 (Lausanne/Zurich)
It’s been 15 years since Migros Kulturprozent decided that what Switzerland’s Pop music needed most was a showcase and music industry festival. Not exactly a new idea but back then there was South By Southwest in Texas, Berlin had the Popkomm while the Dutch had Eurosonic. None of these and those not mentioned were close to Switzerland so, cut a long story short, m4music was born. Grown to be the largest and most important event in Swiss music business, the goals for this year’s edition remain the same: Crossing borders between countries, musical genres and most importantly between professionals and up and coming artists. Again there will be a series of workshops, conferences and panels with industry key players sharing their experiences and of course, there’s the Demotape Clinic where ambitious young acts can have their latest reviewed by a jury consisting of music professionals.
One day in Lausanne, two in Zurich
Just like last year, the opening night of m4music, Thursday 22 March takes place in the French part of Switzerland, this year in Lausanne’s venues "Le Romandie" and "D!Club". Live performances include The Bianca Story from Basel. On Friday, 23 and Saturday, 24 March, the festival is located around Zurich’s Schiffbau and starts early in the morning at 11am, with our Business Mixer brunch. Here’s a short depiction of Saturday’s and Sunday’s programme.

As it is the custom, Swiss Music Export is holding another Business Mixer event to take advantage of the high number of industry pros from Switzerland and abroad attending m4music. Help yourself at our generous brunch consisting of Swiss specialties in a relaxed atmosphere and get in touch with our international guests, who knows – maybe one or two business relations can be set in motion.
