Boy sign with Grönland Records
Singer/Songwriter-duo Boy, consisting of Valeska Steiner, hailing from Zurich and Sonja Glass from Hamburg, have signed a long-term record deal with Herbert Grönemeyer’s independent label Grönland Records. The release of their debut album is scheduleded for late Summer 2011. Boy’s profile is going to be built up not only in German-speaking countries, but also in other key territories. Sven Hasenjäger, the band’s manager and co-founder of 380 Grad, is confident to have found the right partners in Grönland Records.
The two girls who are now known as Boy, met at a Pop Music course in Hamburg and have since been making a name writing delicate Folk-Pop with English lyrics. This summer, they’re opening three shows for Philipp Poisel, a fellow artist on Grönland records. In October, Four Artists are sending them on a first club-tour.
